After I graduated I worked for awhile until I found the job I loved. I went to work for Davidson College in the library in 1967 and stayed until I moved to Florida in l971. I moved back to Mooresville in 1973 and met my husband. Larry and I were married in 1975. We lived in Mooresville until 1999 and at that time we moved to Newland, NC. We separated in 2003 and divorced in 2006. I retired from Wells Fargo Bank March 29th of this year. So far retirement has been lovely. I have one stepdaughter, Teresa, from Larry's first marriage. One grandson in the air force and one granddaughter working and living in Charlotte.

I attended Queens College in Charlotte for 3 yrs. - married a midshipman for the Naval Academy in "69. His name is John Michael Lounge (Mike) and we had a daughter, Shannon, in '71. I was a Navy wife for nine yrs, lived in California, Maryland and D. C. Then for 3 years we lived in Houston, Texas where he was an astronaut. We divorced after that and I stayed there for another 5 yrs. In '85, came to Florida with my daughter. In "88 met a good 'ole boy from Kings Mtn. and in "90 we got married. This one stuck! Gary is a general contractor/developer and I have been at Re/max for sixteen years. My partner and I also are equity partners in three title companies. My daughter has gotten her Phd. in counseling education and is a professor at Nova Southeastern Univ. in Ft. Lauderdale. I have two granddaughters (11 & 14) and 2 fuzzy kids (Poms) named Sassy and Teddy. We live in Bay Hill Country Club (home of Arnold Palmer's PGA tournament) near the attractions (Disney, Universal & Sea World) and welcome guests.

Kathy and Terry have lived in Palm Harbor, Florida, just west of Tampa, for twenty-six years. Both their sons have returned to Mooresville and love living there. Chip and his wife, Janise, have a son, Trent, and a daughter, Ashley. Brian and his wife, Carrie, moved to Mooresville last year. Terry is retired and Kathy is a team manager with The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She has worked with The Hospice for fifteen years and is looking forward to visiting with former classmates at the reunion. Retired October 2014.

Two weeks after graduation I left for Jacksonville, FL I was there for two years studying electronics. I joined the Air Force in October 1968. From basic training in Texas, I went to Denver, CO for Air-to-Air Missile training. I was stationed in Korea, Japan, Las Vegas, and Idaho; then discharged in December 1972. I retired in June 2005, after thirty-two years with The Xerox Corp. In 2002 I lost my wife to cancer after twenty-nine years of marriage. I have two daughters and four grandsons. After being single for approximately twelve years, I started dating Beverly Brown Sproul. We were married in June 2013. We have built a new house and life is good.

After MHS, I received a BA in Education from UNC Chapel Hill. Moved to Charlotte to teach - met Caldwell Cline, Charlotte native and UNC graduate - married in -73. I taught for 6 years then with a Real Estate Brokers license sold Real Estate in Charlotte where I owned my own company for a while & retired 5 years ago. I have 1 son & 3 grandchildren (set of identical twin 4 year old boys & their 6 year old sister). Since retiring, I spend all my time traveling, particularly to 4 resort homes I own (3 in NC and 1 in the French Quarters of New Orleans, filming sites of the 70-s TV series Longstreet, Bond movie Live & Let Die and Delta Burke-s former home). I still retain the Charlotte family home but am rarely there. Due to property in heritance, commercial on Main St & Lake Norman home, I return to Mooresville frequently. It is always a -treat- to -cruise- down Memory Lane to the -What-a-Burger- some things never change!

Elected to the Mooresville Town Council in 1997 and serviced the citizens of Mooresville in that capacity until 2005. During that time, worked for NASCAR drivers Ricky Rudd for 4 years and Wally Dallenbach for a year. Married for 52 years to Christa "Crick" McElveen and we have one daughter, Torie who works for the State of North Carolina in the Daycare Division.

After graduating, I entered NC State but Vietnam and the draft caught up with me and I joined the Navy in 1968 just ahead of being drafted. I became a Radioman and served on the World War II Entemedor (SS-340) and the nuclear Nathan Hale (SSBN-623) submarines. I served in the Pacific, mostly out of Hawaii and Guam until being discharged after 4 years of service.
In 1973 I graduated from Mitchell College with an AA degree in Business and a minor in Data Processing. That year I was hired by ITT in Raleigh, NC as a Junior Engineer in their Mackay Marine radio division. From there I advanced to a Systems Engineering position, developing radio systems used mostly by embassies around the world. In this capacity I traveled quite extensively around the world. Late in the 1980-s, the demand for radio systems that I was developing decreased and I was laid off. However, by the end of the year I was picked up by Teletec, Inc. and became a Marketing Support Engineer in the development of their VHF/UHF radios and radio systems. When the Gulf war started I got laid off again as we were providing development support to Iraq for their UHF radio systems. Needless to say I lost a lot of equipment in Baghdad and a job at the same time that year.
Not wanting to leave North Carolina and building on my computer experience in my systems, I started working with computers as a full time job. I now work supporting personal and business computers around the Raleigh area.
In 1977 I married Carolyn and we have 3 children and 1 grandson. I still live in Raleigh and enjoy hunting, fishing and shooting.
