Obituary

William Emerson Suther, 75, of Sanford passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by family.

Emerson was born on May 22, 1948, in Rowan, NC to the late Sherlie Monroe Suther Jr. and Barbara Jarvis Suther. He was a graduate of Gardner-Webb University and held many roles throughout his career in the Telephone industry.

Emerson enjoyed being with his family more than anything else. He especially loved the time he spent with his granddaughter and seeing the world through her eyes. He also looked forward to the many fishing trips he would take with his brothers to the Outer Banks.

He leaves behind his daughters Elizabeth Suther of Sanford, Kathleen Suther and granddaughter Claire of Sanford, brother Lee Suther (Rhonda) of Indian Trail, his best four legged friend Henry and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Sally Scheipers Suther and brother Eugene “Gene” Suther.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 1:00pm at Miller-Boles Funeral Home, 1150 Fire Tower Rd. Sanford, NC 27330. Family will receive friends following the service.

Services are entrusted to Miller-Boles Funeral Home of Sanford.
