Obituary

Gloria Gray Sloop Ervin, 68, of Mooresville, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

She was born on November 20, 1947 in Iredell County, to the late Pearl Gray and Sarah Bernice Thompson Sloop. Mrs. Ervin was a 1966 graduate of Mooresville High School. She was the office manager for Ervin Construction and was a licensed cosmetologist. Mrs. Ervin was a member of the United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Wayne Sloop. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, F.J. Ervin; children, Jay Ervin and wife, Jeannie, Jessi Kerlin and husband, Sean; sisters, Gail Smith, Lynda Malcolm and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Josie, Jenna and Jake Ervin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 24 at Fair View United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Ervin officiating. Burial will follow the service at Centre Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
