Obituary

Dennis Edward Brown, 69, of N. Magnolia St., Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville.

Born January 23, 1948, in Mooresville, he was a son of the late Alvin and Delores Gibson Brown. He was a retired Chief Flight Engineer for the US Navy. Following his retirement from service, he worked and retired from Federal Express in 2012. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Ellen Bradley Brown; brother, Barry Brown and sister, Ann Brown Robey.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Brown; sons, Brian Strickland (Sara), of Las Vegas, NV, Mickey Strickland (Jan), of Munford, TN, and Darrell Brown (Brandy), of Munford, TN; daughters, Valerie Ann Johnson (Andrew), of Denver, NC, and Laurie Lee Oliphant, of Charlotte; brother, Father David Brown, of Belmont, NC; sisters, Laurie Brown Courtney (James) and Carroll Brown Henson (Wayne); step-mother, Linda Edwards Brown; step-sisters, Mary Linda Whitledge and Michelle Reynolds and twelve grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, March 27, 2017, at Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Mark Pitts and Rev. Jan Brittain officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Kitchen Improvement Fund, 575 Brawley School Rd., Mooresville, NC 28117.
